What is Kundalini Yoga?

The kundalini energy is a natural unfolding of your own nature: the energy that flows through your body, the firing neurons sending impulses to your brain, creating thoughts, emotions, and crafting experience. Kundalini Yoga, also called the “Yoga of Awareness,” is a supreme technology that combines breath, meditation, posture, and movement to awaken your senses and bring into full expression your original and infinite Self - the core essence of your being without the masks of everyday life.

The physical body is a vehicle that requires cleaning, care, and regular tuning. We tune our physical bodies through the asanas and kriyas. This technology teaches you how to gain a strong immune system, vital glands, a strong nervous system, good circulation, and an awareness of the impact of your habits in your life.

As the movements strengthen your nervous system, you are able to become fully present to the sensations in your body, no longer enslaved by the stories of the mind. If you can feel the blood coursing through your veins, the vibrant electrical energy of this human experience, then you become alive.

This is awareness.

Our life has become inundated with sensations. We do not know how to check daily for our inner balance of elimination, absorption, rest, and activity. This lack of sensitivity to our own needs is what makes us sick. Through the prescribed kriyas (exercise sets), we are able to fine tune our nervous system and regain balance in our wholistic being.

What most people experience as a kundalini awakening is actually the activation of stagnant energy in the spine. Most people have disassociated from their body as a defense mechanism, stuck in the ranting and ravings of the mind. When we can feel our body and feel the Earth beneath our feet, we can begin to feel stillness.

FAQs

  • 1. Download Zoom for free onto your computer and register for a basic account.

    2. Create a safe place for yourself where you can be undisturbed for the duration of the class.

    3. You may book the class up to 60 minutes before the class starts. The Zoom link will be waiting in your inbox one hour prior to class starting, unless you book the class within the hour of class starting in which case you will receive the link immediately.

    4. As soon as you click the link, Zoom will start up and you will be admitted into the virtual studio.

    5. Make sure your camera is turned on for the optimal experience. If you are shy, you are welcome to turn it off.

    6. Turn your audio up so that you can hear the instructions.

  • Please have readily available a yoga mat, sheepskin rug (optional, faux or real), meditation bolster/cushion (optional), a small blanket for relaxation, and water. Please place your phones on Do Not Disturb, and make sure your immediate space is quiet and free of clutter.

  • for CLASSES:

    If you are unable to attend a class for whatever reason, you may cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund. In the event of tardiness to class, the class will not be extended to make up for the lost time. Please ensure that you have downloaded all relevant programs and have adequate bandwidth to live stream the class prior to the start of the class.

    Third Voice Yoga does not take responsibility for any technical difficulties or issues due to the connection, bandwidth, or any software or hardware malfunction. Refunds will be given to all participants only if the Instructor is unable to participate, and/or the Instructor has technical difficulties resulting in the inability to instruct the class.

    for WORKSHOPS:

    If you cannot attend the workshop for whatever reason, you may cancel two weeks prior to the start of the workshop. There is a 50% retention fee should you cancel one week prior to the start of the workshop. After that time no refunds will be issued.

    We will not provide refunds for any missed classes during the course of the workshop. Since the dates are scheduled in advance, we leave it at your discretion to adjust or plan around your schedule accordingly. If you cannot attend all of the workshop dates, you may purchase the classes individually.

    We will provide no make-ups for any missed classes or workshops for any reason.
